BUSY

SUP FOLKS!

I haven't had a minute to breathe for 10 days straight...I'm SO glad it's the weekend and one battle is over :D and by battle I mean the Annual Concert, haha

Had an all day rehearsal yesterday, brought my Chem books to get some study done, but needless to say I was in so many things I didn't get any studying crammed :( The Yamaha at Robert Blackwood SUCKS, which caused me to shat my pants cos my Unit 4 Music SAC would be recorded in the evening performance...

Thought I could get a break before the actual concert, but I had English tutoring, in which I had to leave early to get to the vocal warm up at 6:30

And you know what's stressful? Being so far away from Monash Uni, in a traffic jam on the FREEWAY. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! Dad ditched the freeway and went on the regular roads, which caused me more stress because it would take longer...but I got there on time, did a warm up and got a flower as a thankyou for doing stacks of accompaniment :D and for some reason, I love getting thankyou flowers...it kinda makes up for the pressure to NOT SCREW UP ON A VERY LOUD KEYBOARD T__T

The night went well, everything got recorded and BIRO WAS AMAZINGGGGG! Her concerto SO should've been the finale :( But I feel so sorry for her cos the year 12 formal is tonight...2 late nights in a row LOL

Went to bed on a highhh, didn't sleep very well and I felt stoned all morning...considering the lack of study I did, I think my chem test wasn't so bad :D definately passed, definately not a good mark though...yay? haha

Can't WAIT to sleep in...Belle's coming over tomorrow & piano lesson (FINALLY!!!) on Sunday. Plus, I need to buy a few decks of jumbo playing cards & fake poker chips from somewhere..formal preparation is SOO on its way :D Gotta get everything done before camp (got assigned to go to Phillip Island YESS), then it's my birthday HOLY HELL I'M GONNA BE 17!

xo
ps. Leah if you're gonna accuse me of disease, at least SPELL IT CORRECTLY...Wernicke Aphasia you psychologicaly damaged woman! ahhahaha COME TO THE FORMAL
pps. Amanda and Lisa, good luck for district interviews!!

day 1 back at school

No more pretty photos and mildly interesting stories on this blog for a while :(

Today was a pretty easygoing day...met the new psych teacher, can't work out if I like her or not yet =/ we'll see...

Hardcore music rehearsal weekend is coming up D: I am soo gone.

Not as gone as Leah is though :D

She's in labour...her head is giving birth to a baby, according to the doctor :D

rye ....AND MASTERCHEF

Got back from Rye last night :D I spent Saturday out and about, taking photos mostly...had an AWESOME lunch at Portsea Hotel!

I know you're jealous....

You know what's even better than food? HOT SPRINGS

Slight disaster happened though - we got there and had to wait for an hour and a half cos it was full up :( After an hour and a half passed, we went in and...I didn't have my swimsuit :(

LUCKILY our ryehouse was like 5 minutes away (with Dad's fast driving) so he raced me back (had to drag him out of the pool thing HAHA), I grabbed my stuff, got changed and jumped into the spring :D

SOOOO NICE! They had 5 little springs that got hotter as you went up...I could handle the 42 degree until I stood up and blacked out...but I am definately going back some time!

Sunday sucked, I spent the day finishing holiday homework, but then I discovered I had movies on my laptop...watched Slumdog Millionaire (finally)! It was brilliant, but I was totally thinking of thathornyguyfromskins every time I looked at Jamal haha

FAST FORWARD TO SUNDAY NIGHT AND I WAS CAMPING AT THE TV WATCHING MASTERCHEF!

Can't believe Julie won...she's a good cook and all, but so is my mum T___T Poh's a good chef, and thank god Curtis Stone (who is totally hot...hahaha) is taking her to LA to cook and all :D I even dreamt last night that I was on Masterchef...I made fried rice and wontons HAHA

harry potter!!!!!

FINALLY HAHA

Trammed over to Steph's, Sam opened the door and I fully did a double take...I was expecting a short lil asian girl to open the door but I got a very big asian dude instead D:

(oh and Steph's younger bro...is now VERY BIG and has Goku hair o.o)

ANYWAY, went over to the cinema to watch HARRY POTTER (or "happy potter" as we keep mistyping...) and we thought we were the only ones in the cinema! until all these kiddies filed in :(

Movie was really good, not much dialogue? but definately funnier than the other movies, for sure :D They changed a lot of things, but the changes worked really well! I liked it when Harry was on Felix Felicis...he was HIGH HAHAHA, it was like drugs...

AND CORMAC MCLAGGEN IS HOT STUFF!!

MINS

SOOO we Darkzone'd yesterday til we sweat through our clothes and our limbs dropped off (or maybe that was just me)

Green Team (the awesome one, of course)
Min
Lisa
Me
Fred (til we kicked him to the blue team)

Red Team
Erika
Benny
Steph
Megan

Blue Team
Jackie
Someone that Min never intro'd
Someone else that Min never intro'd
(Jimmy and...uh...Nathan? .__.)

Yellow Team
Random white guy 1
Random white guy 2
(ironic that the white guys are in the yellow team...haha)

First game, Red team won and Erika came first
Second game, we won and one of the white guys came first o.o they were pro
Third game, Red and Green formed alliance against Blue and somehow Blue came first anyway HAHA.

Amanda and Leah came after watching Harry Potter, and we trammed over to Erika's for BBQ and etc :D Mike, Diana and her French girl Laetitia came, but Emma never showed up :(

BALLOONS

We kicked the boys off to do the cooking, and we girls set up the tarp and made the fire (role reversal?)

I hate to admit that our tarp failed the first time ^ and Fred had to help us out =__=

After we set up, we spazzed out with a camwhore session (of course)

then Min took someone else's camera and did the whole tb asian thing...whilst Megan and I were like SCREW THIS YEAHHH!!!! hence the tonsils and strange faces

aaand then Lisa joined :D

right...so anyway...the rest of the night was mainly toasting marshmallows, sitting on the trampoline/throwing party poppers at min/tickling min/keeping Toffee away from the food...silly dog ate the kebab AND the stick, the chicken AND the bone wtff o.o and attempted eating cake too haha

There was cake and sparklers (I think photos are on Erika's/Jackie'es camera, since mine died thanks to Min and Megan taking like 123871927 photos of themselves). We played spin the bottle, which was pretty uneventful but still fun :D we also played uno....seriously out of things to do, and we were lazy cos Erika's cool Jap table had a heater underneath and it was nice and warm hahaha :D Just as we started a movie, I went home...but Lisa, Min and Megan (crazy girl has school tomorrow o.o) stayed the night

SO YEAH :D and now I have no idea what I wanna do for my 17th...or if I should do anything at all =/ My b'day is such bad timing :( Once school starts, it's like this: VCE soiree, music camp, annual concert, camp, bday, formal, recital...aaaah

muscley coriander

Shopped at Bridge Rd with Susan today :D Bought absolutely nothing of importance, picked up 2 Body Shop eyeshadows (purple and bluee) for $5 each!! soooooooo cheap, cos they're usually what...$20 each? woooo! Also bought a new top from Camberwell somewhere

Had hotpot at Susan's afterwards + Annette and fam, cos my cousin is going to America in a few days :( Wont see him til I finished year 12, and Annette's also moving in September *CRY*

The spastic kid was making up names for us all night...I was muscley coriander, Susan was slimey beef, and she named herself "ummfierce snake" amoung many other biographies for each of us (apparently Susan drives a raft made from stickytape, I drive a vacuum cleaner, Steven is so pathetic he has to walk everywhere...and the other Sophie drives a ferrari? WHAT IS THIS!)

The other spastic kid (my dad) played Wii golf with the little ones AND WE WATCHED MASTERCHEF :D Poh got poh'ned (HAHA IM SO FUNNY.) and obviously Chris won the whole "lets cook a goat" thing...

happenings!

Been a bit of a hermit for 2 days, figured I should start tackling homework? *cough*watchingtheoc*cough*

Went for a swim with the folks yesterday, HILARIOUS! Dad swam like 800m, and somehow did it without floating...his legs just sink, it's too funny :P Mum and I raced til she burst out laughing underwater, not a good sight to see her choking and spluttering and laughing...hahaha. We decided to have a "how long can you hold your breath whilst swimming" race, cos she claims that she laughs when she watches me swim.....

I beat her anyways :D by like, 2m...hahaha

Today, had the house to myself around lunchtime, gran called and we spent a good half a minute arguing whether I was the REAL me, or whether it was Mum pretending to be me...

Had dinner with more family friends + this kid called...Bob? I SWEAR HIS ENGLISH NAME IS BOB! I NEVER THOUGHT I'D KNOW A REAL BOB IN MY LIFE :O But yeah, last time I saw the kid, he was this scrawny thing from Chinaland, and now he's taller than me and...fatter. THAT'S WHAT AUSSIELAND DOES TO YA :D

...I really need to stop eating junk. GET THE TWIX OFF MY TABLE!!

epic shopping

Caught up with Susan and Steph today :D The plan was that we all caught the same train, but somehow Susan ended up being late, and Steph ended up being early...so I was the only one who stuck to the plan LOL. Steph arrived after me though, cos the duffer friggin walked from Flinders to MC D:

Sorta walked around aimlessly for a while, then went to GPO to buy my Pandora bracelet!! I swear to god I've been dreaming about it for 2 nights straight...VERY SAD I KNOW

Susan bought me the bracelet, and Steph bought me the music note bead :D I bought the other 3, AND I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS THING IS WORTH $226 WITH ONLY 4 BEADS!! WHAT'S MORE IS THAT I CAN'T BELIEVE I BOUGHT IT HAHA

Angel = bushfires
Music note = duh
Blue glass = ...pretty and I like blue?
Dice = ...cute :D and life is like chance I guess...that, or I love gambling? LOL um.

I guess it's kinda fair because I'm not crazy about clothes/shoes like they are...I prefer jewellery and food (take note boys ;D HAHA)

DFO'd afterwards and I was already shopped out, so I basically got dragged around each store and sat down on the seats inside...my feet hurt like crap :(

Gonna watch the MJ memorial tonight orrrr Masterchef!

ENVIRO DRESSSSSSS

SOO I got to chaddy early, went to Priceline to get a new eyeliner cos Leah blunted my old one and it got too small to sharpen LOL. Saw Viv buying chocolate at Coles (trust) so we left and ate lunch

Went BACK to Coles and bought 10 hot pink enviro-bags. YES IT WAS REALLY AWKWARD o.o 99c each, so 10x = I SAVED 10c! hahahaha

Viv bought her black bags from Borders...cos fricken Priceline sells their bags for $3 each WTF!

So we trekked back to Viv's place, fussed for a REALLY long time about cutting the bags and going "OMG WHAT IF WE SCREW UP!!", "DO WE REALLY NEED 10 BAGS?!" etc etc

FINALLY we started the first dress - cut the bottom of the bag out and I...wore it :D felt like wearing a box...

So then I decided to cut out a triangle and make it corset-ish :) we pinned the ribbon, glued it down then Viv sewed it for me

Once the top bit was sorted, we kinda fluffed around wondering how to make the skirt...Viv experimented and ripped off the bag handles, and I started cutting the bags open so it was a long piece of material, and making them into fan shapes...

Whilst this was going on, Viv started on hers :D the Borders bags were smaller than Coles, but Viv is a lot smaller than me anyway...so, we split hers down the middle, and did the corset thing again :D My ribbon was glued/sewn on, but Viv's were the real deal - we cut slits and threaded the ribbon through, like shoelaces!

We should've started both our dresses at the same time, cos then we both would have finished...so now all I have to do is glue/stitch all my "fans" onto the hem of my corset, and Viv is threading elastic through her skirt and pulling it so it bunches up...we lazy!

In total I would have used 9 bags...the 10th one is for this...

REALLY HARD TO PUT ON AND TAKE OFF, BUT HERE'S THE MONEY SHOT (I'm holding my skirt together...)

kaching.

chapel st

Just got home from a bit of shopping with Lisa and Erika :D Lisa needed a formal dress, so we just sorta shopped around the streets under the on-off rain...

Heaps of stores had beautiful stuff, but REALLY ugly pricing :( Ended up at Swish (where heaps of people get their dresses) and Lisa bought a black dress, with some non-ruffly layers and a white band around the middle...very cute! She's sooooo tiny, like size 6 D:

Obscure necklaces!

And you can't leave Chapel without laughing at this place...

BEST FREAAAKIN RESTAURANT EVER!
Pretty sure I say that about every restaurant, but this place had kickassssssss dessert! Main course was good ol' roast beef and veggies...traditional, but delishhhhhh :D Susan had steak and kidney pie, Surae had chicken parcels or something...serious case of meny envy, haha

OH BUT THE DESSERT!

Choc Nut Fudge Brownies with icecream and chocolate sauce...HEAVEN. I ate a bite of everyone's dessert...next time, I gotta have the bread and butter pudding WTFF HOW CAN SOMETHING SO NICE BE MADE FROM BREAD AND BUTTER!

Afterwards, we parted ways with Susan's family and took our asian fam friends for a drive up to the Skyhigh cafe and check out the view :) Reliving Urban 07 moments! (oh Leah how I love you HAHAHAHHAHAHA)

Can't believe it's been 2 years since Urban...life is ridiculously different now - I was perfectly happy with life back then and the only thing that hasn't changed is that I'm perfectly happy now :) GOD I LOVE LIFE HAHA (it's the post-lmus relief, hopefully it never goes away LOL)

So here I am in 2009, 200% excited to watch Rove tonight and 500% exploding with food............

sleep n bake

Yesterday arvo, went to visit Belle :D She's grown up SOOO much, and actually didn't cry when I held her .__. WHAT IS THIS! BABIES ACTUALLY LIKE ME?

I was induced into a state of shock...then, she looked at me like this

and I melted :)

Drove straight from Belle's to Susan's house for a sleepover with Megan and Jessss just like last time :D Played Big Two with Ben and Andy while we waited for Jess to finish her piano lesson...dinner'd then ate a huge load of onion rings/chocolate covered sultanas/sour tubes/cadbury etc etc whilst watching National Treasure 2 (haha RILEYY ♥) and A Cinderella Story hahaaa. Played the whole "murder, marry, makeout" game with people like Voldemort, George Bush and Pamela Anderson etc etc...slept at around 4am, then woke up 5 hours later...

But for some reason, we were REALLY untired...must've been a deep sleep o.o Jess' air mattress pumping skills OWNED, cause we we TOTALLY didn't wake up lying on floorboards :D

Megan had to scram because she had some birthday party, so on the way home from dropping her at Chaddy, we bought supplies for our baking sessionnn (we be masterchefs!)

Home brand ingredients = AMAZING COOKIES. Except this one had a bit of a problem...

In the oven...GOD THEY SMELT GOOOOD

Susan was obsessed with adding milk, I was obsessed with adding flour

BUT THEY TURNED OUT AMAZING. I guess it evened out, cos the edges were crunchy and the centre was soft.....until they cooled, AND NOW THEY'RE LIKE ROCKS :( we wanted to give some to Jacky 老师 , and last time we baked her the muffins...they came out REALLY LEATHERY HAHA. This time they'll probably break her teeth, but at least they looked appealing :D

~storytime~

OH MY GOD FUNNIEST THING EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right, we had FAR too much energy for 10am in the morning, so we decided to go bball at the park (with a kiddy ball). Shortly after, some asian girl/woman came up to us and started to...join in O.O so we said "hmm, how bout we go to soph's house and get a real basketball?" to get rid of her...

When we came back, she had gone, so we shot a few hoops and THEN WE SAW HER SITTING ON THE BENCH WTF! We scrammed.

Went to the park near Susan's house, and these 2 punks on bikes were in the same area...they started following us (the park at Susan's had a basketball backboard with...no hoop HAHA) around and saying "shaaakiraaa! shakiraaaaa!" or something that sounded like that o.o I think they were attempting to be racist, cos we're asian and all LOL. So these boys (who were probably like 14) followed us around for half an hour, Jess decided to run a lap around the oval and she outran them on bikes...weak asses HAHA. The kid that looked like he was 12 plucked a flower and tried to give it to Susan, but he kinda tossed it and I kinda stood on it. THEN they tried to block us off from an alleyway, but we just jumped over the wall

GOD they were stupid HAHA, I ended up saying "hey sus, is your big bro home?" and the kids mysteriously disappeared...

definately gonna make a video about this one...too funny to pass up haha

~

So now I probably weight 600kg from all that food, and on top of that, we're going out to lunch tomorrow in a mountain in woopwoop and it'll be amazing :D

OH WE ALSO MET LAURA'S BOYFRIEND OR WHOEVER HE IS...cute guy, cute accent. hahahaa...BUT SHE MADE ME PLAY PIANO

YES PEOPLE, I TOUCHED THE PIANO AND SO DID SUSAN D: BLASPHEMY!!!

WHY CAN'T I JUST SAY NO TO SOME PEOPLE? GODD, FREAKIN LAURA'S TOO SWEET HAHA

I LOVE LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I PASSED LMUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But we'll get back to that...

SO yesterday, Susan and I spent the night at Sofitel!! Dad has membership to some golf club, and got a free night for us so we checked in at 2pm and went shopping from MC to DFO and everything in between (bought nothing...haha)!

Later that night, her fam + my fam + piano teacher had a beautiful dinner in No. 35...7 course taster menu OH MY LORD it was incredible!

No. 1; pre teaser (crab or something)

No. 2; sashimi crystal bay prawns - wakimi - organic white tea & apple ice
[forgot to take a pic since I didn't eat it cos 1) I hate prawn and 2) ...RAW PRAWN?]

No. 3; Pecora ricotta & yolk ravioli - "sous vide" hen wing - foie gras - cavelo nero

No. 4; David Blackmore's wagyu rib-eye - ms 9+ and creamed bintjes pine mushrooms - quince

No. 5; lime & sago soda

No. 6; Woodside goats curd - warm truffled manuka honey - lavender oil - brioche

No. 7; Iced coconut shards - dry lychee meringue - white rum jelly - jaina snow
[forgot to take a pic again...too busy digesting, haha]

And if you're wondering how I have an amazing memory for the menu, it's cos we got to take it home...I have NO idea what all the foreign food names mean, it's like Masterchef hahaha

Ladies (cold Susan wearing my jumper on my right, AND THE BEST PIANO TEACHER IN THE WORLD ON MY LEFT ♥ ! + very awesome mums)

Watched Keeping Mum until the pirated disc failed, then watched The Prince and Me cos...we're girls and we like bad predictable chick flicks HAHA. Chatted til 2am about girly things and fell asleep in out VERY SOFT BEDS WTF I was up to my eyeballs in mattress and pillow, no joke

--------------------------------------

SO TODAY, we woke up at 10:30, checked out an hour later and went to eat brunch somewhere...trekked all the way to Beetroot on Hardware Lane (URBAN!) and I had a ham&cheese croissant + their awesome hot chocolate with fairy floss on top yumm! Lame Susan watched me eat...

I got out my phone after brunch and I was like WTF why do I have 5 missed calls from Dad and home?? So I cbf'd calling them back and went walking around to find food for Susan...then I realised I had an sms on top of the missed calls

From Dad (who has great texting skills....) "Congratulations on your award of L-mas (LOL it's like xmas, but lmas...wtff). Well done, sophie. We are proud of you"

So I basically screamed in the middle of a salad bar...called mum, who was SOO angry that Dad delivered the news LOL. They were having a war of who could get through to me first :P

SO YUP, after that we watched The Proposal, which I thought was funny...I guess both of us were in a girly movie mode :) we considered Transformers, but neither of us were up for a long movie...

Bought shoes for the formal on the way home! From Nine West cos they're on sale...hahaha

MAKES ME SOOO TALL! Comfy enough to last for 4 hours without dropping dead with blisters, and nobody's gonna see my feet anyway. Actually starting to get excited about this formal business...didn't really give a crap til I got voted on the committee, cos organising tables/invites/music etc sounds really fun!

AMANDA AND I ARE GONNA ROCK OUR FLOOR LENGTH DRESSES! hahahaha
