um, pissed.

Firstly, I'm REALLY thankful that we had our own year 11 formal this year...because it's been decided that our formal in 2010 is GONNA BE COMBINED WITH THE YEAR 11'S!!!!! WHAT THE HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Shelby put it right - we put up with the uniform change, we put up with the twilight fair being every 2nd year, we put up with no year 10 area, we put up with t-bar banning...but a combined formal is just TOO FAR

The excuse is that venues are denying our booking because we have under 200 people...I say bullshit - what if I wanted to book a wedding recepetion for under 200 people? "Oh sorry, you can't celebrate your wedding because you need more guests."

!!

I would rather pay another $90 than fork out slightly less and have it combined. I'll also be pissed if the price for this combined formal isn't much less than $90

Some people wanna boycott, some people wanna organise a separate one, and some people even suggested bringing more than 1 date to compensate for numbers and price

I say no to boycotting because that means next year's Year 11's will have the WHOLE venue to themselves...and that's not the point

The only good thing about this is that we have a beautiful venue...as long as there is some way to ignore the year 11's all night, I'll get over it eventually =__= I mean, who wants to have a formal in our hall? eww...at least st kevs had a nice hall

unit 4 recital exam :D

IT'S OVERRRRRRR!!!

I feel so freeeeeeeee :D For the first time in my life, I no longer have a purpose to play piano (ie, no more exams of any kind) and I can actually play random pieces because I WANT TO!!

I got to MLC early (because dad is a speedy driver and likes to arrive EVERYWHERE half an hour early) and the centre co-ordinator people told me and the other guy to sit down, and they'd come take us to a warm-up room at 10am

10am on the dot, we were lead to a room...I told mum to go back to the car, while the other guy brought his mum and his hot water bottle with him haha. I swear he was trying to intimidate me in the warm-up place, because the walls are thin and he was BASHING AWAY AT SOME COMPLEX SONG while I was having fun avoiding my vce program and trying to re-remember my lmus program (yes...I have strange warm-up/relaxing methods).

10:25am, and the lady came to get us, I was REALLY impatient to get this exam over with, and the guy looked pretty nervous...he was put on a chair outside another room (I presume this room had the Steinway monster, because his friend came out and told him the keys were heavy) and I was put on a chair outside....THE HALL THAT WE HAVE OUR ANNUAL PIANO CONCERT AT :D :D yay meeee! Just after 10:30, a man came out to get me and told me to have a test on both the upright and the grand (it was a Boston) and spent most of my time having a go at the grand. It was alright, nothing terrible but nothing too great either :) Just one of those unmemorable, easy to play pianos...it echoed alright because we were in a hall, but the echo doesn't last very long

Mozart - turned out fine. my memory lapsed in the really start LOL but my fingers kept working D: which felt really weird...towards the end my fingers lapsed but my brain kept working, so I ended up playing something really weird that sounded like I was improvising...HAHA

Chopin - pedal made some weird metallic ZING sounds but yeah...not my problem. The loud could be louder, but again...not my problem :P

Ravel - no missing notes thank godddd, but the final note didn't echo for as long as I would have liked...I needed excuses to drag out my program and the stupid room was not giving it to me hahaha

Debussy - the first octave...came out really soft =/ so I went with it, and made the next one a bit louder...next one a bit louder again...and just made it seem as if I intended it to be like that :P I'M JUST HAPPY I DON'T HAVE TO SUFFER GLISSANDO BLISTERS EVER AGAIN!! My burn blister got caught on a key yesterday and it GODDAMN HURT, so I was really concious of it today and the gliss didn't sound so great but oh well :)

Parents were outside listening (the coordinater man told me they seemed way more nervous than I was........as always) and they said it sounded great, so...I'M JUST REALLY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hope the random stranger guy went well, because...whether it was intentional or not, his warm-up room intimidation worked and scared me :) and goodluck Nhi for next week!

LAST HOUSE SWIMMING :D

I actually enjoyed it for the first time in my life...and I actually swum (or is it swam?) in it for the first and last time in my life :D House swimming always depresses me, because I see all the little year 6's swimming 50m in half a minute and I ALWAYS think of how pro I used to be...and then I think of how much I hated it and I feel better :P

Spent most of the day timekeeping with Juliette...I was super lucky that my timekeeping lane was also my house lane, so I could scream for my lane without looking like an idiot :D Mrs Bryant was flipping out in the beginning because she couldn't figure out how to read the scoreboard thing and she refused to believe what I was saying when I explained to her how to read it HAHA

photo interlude (uploading is such a quality killer grr)

I took a break and took more photos with/of people, ate a muffin and boring things like that...went back to timekeeping and RIGHT at the end of it, the other Soph comes up to me and tells me I have to swim the final open relay

WHAT!!

I knew I was in the race, but I figured the captains knew I was timekeeping and found someone to swim for me :( Sara offered to swim for me in the morning, but it turns out she had to replace someone else in the same relay

SO I RAN TO MY BAG, RAN WITH THE BAG TO THE CHANGE ROOM, RAN DOWN THE STAIRS TO THE MARSHALLING AREA

God I was tired from running...and I had to swim a race

I got screamed at by multiple teachers and official people because I didn't go around the back for marshalling...WELL SORRY! I'VE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE! So even though I had walked all the way around the front, they made me turn back and walk around hahaha

We came third in the relay :) Georgia's bathers were so unelastic they were tied up at the back with a lackaband...she hadn't swum since year 6 either, so both of us were around the same speed I think...the other people were in Year 10, which is embarrasing HAHA

Overall, our house came last HAHAHAHA...but I blame the number of people who forfeited their relays...pissed me off so bad, because if you don't swim a race, that's like...10 points gone =__=

revue and final assembly

The revue was hilarioussss as usual, took the piss out of all of us including myself...so if any year 12 lurker's happen to read this (I know at least one of you stalk my dailybooth.........) thanks for finally putting a photo of me in it :D I have waited 6 years to be embarrassed and I guess I finally made it :P so did Viv W, Hannah (who was compared to a beauty queen so I wouldn't complain :P hot photo hansy) and a whole bunch of littler people :) I don't even know who I was compared to...some creepy looking man in a mask :|

THE MRS BRYANT REMIX ROCKED!! AND PJU'S!! HAHAHAA I killed myself laughing, and it was funnier cos I was sitting right behind brommers just chuckling away at himself...umm did anyone else find the Emma Watson pictures in his office slightly creepy =/ or was that planted there by the 12's? hahaha

FINAL ASSEMBLY MADE ME CRY SOOO MUCH :( :( :( I cry because I see people cry so that was normal...but I'm pretty sure I was a bawling mess when Biro finished. Shelby was 10x more emotionally unstable, so I'm glad I wasn't alone :P I cried through the year 12 song, and I had to recover as quick as I could to play the school hymn...then the year 11's formed the guard of honour...and then I cried some more...and then went to english for the remaining 10 minutes of period 4 =_____=

So for the last 2 periods I lost myself in the music library trying to find a house chorals set piece for next year...it was unsuccessful, so I guess I'll try again some other day haha :P

update

HAHA @ Leah and Steph...Steph I thought you were some TOTAL random who happened to share an uncle with Leah...MAN I WAS SO STUNNED until I realised you guys were sisters =___=

So the *highlight* of my day was chem...or not. One part of the prac required putting a test tube full of shit into a blue bunsen burner flame. When we took it out, I went to turn the gas off or something, and my finger touched the bottom of the test tube - right where the flame had been burning at for a good minute or two.

*&^&^$^%#!!*@^%#*^&!%@*#^%*^%~

My first thought was OHMYGODDDDD MY UNIT 4 SOLO IS IN 5 DAYS!!!!!!!!! so I stuck my finger under running water for a bit...funnily enough it didn't hurt or anything, my knuckle was just a weird shade of yellow. Half and hour later it was definately burnt pretty bad (according to people who have been burnt before) and now it's a lot better. I let it *recover* in a bent position so I would still be able to play piano, but now it's a bit of a struggle to straighten it out. THANK GOD it wasn't the other side of my hand where I have to use more often...

So now my right hand looks like a mutilated mess because of the glissando blisters as well as this ugly burn...blah

The yr 12 leavers service was today as well...the one where it's just year 12's in a church with candles and bible receiving etc etc. It was a really nice service (ie, bearable) and I almost cried in the reflection speeches :(

SOOOO looking forward to tomorrow's revue (hopefully nothing embarrassing on me), and not so looking forward to the year 12's final assembly...*CRYYY*

speech night 09

I bet it was boring for people in the audience, but it was seriously fun for me :D The stress of running around getting ready to perform really adds up in the end! I felt more sorry for Erika though, she was in something like 5 items in a row...

Anyway, I started the night by giving the thankyou card to Biro...she was "omgomgomg"ing when she saw it - so worth the effort of hiding the card from her all week! I know a lot of captains (especially house captains) get flowers and engraved jewellery as a thankyou, but to be honest I think an old fashioned card is so much better :)

After being picked on about the way I stand when I play the flute, I was seriously self concious about performing Explosive...the heat of the light combined with the sleepyness and nervousness...weird weird mixture :( but the performance was awesome and I *tried* to have fun but the whole time I was still worried about how high my arms were LOL. I think Biro's electric was crackling really bad, but meh...it sounded a lot better than the Jazz Soiree!

Straight after that was choir (I think I played Here Comes the Sun way too loud...oops)
After that was strings (which I'm not in, thankfully)
Then orchestra (which was very messy but yay that Audria got the trombone bit haha)
Then the mass singing (Black or White by MJ...sounded pretty good on the night, thankfully)
School song
Sung blessing

HOLY CRAP I have never felt so stressed about having my music on me AT ALL TIMES. I also have never felt so intimidated singing the school song next to the elite choir yr 12's singing the descant =__=

So it was a great night in the end :D It's so weird and sad to come to realised that ALLLLL those year 12's won't be in our school next year...and it's even scarier to think about the fact that *I* will be gone from school this time next year

WTH! WHERE DID MY LIFE GO?

xo
ps - Jason's fam bought a new house :D so they took us out for dinner in docklands...chinese restaurant with western twist, YUM!

...except there were moments where I wish Jason was a girl. He's a great kid but even discussing impending zombie apocalypses, his DJing career and explaining Saw I to V gets old eventually :(

mao's last dancer

Went to see this movie with my folks, and I loved it but my dad kept complaining how selfish the guy was :P I guess having asian parents who were put through the same cultural revolution (we still have like 60+ Mao badges haha) and not being as lucky as Li CunXin being fully *sponsored* by the government to dance and go to the USA...and then throwing it away because he wanted to stay there. Meh, I thought it was super emotional and all, but dad had a hissy fit about it before the movie started :P

more on this later (maybe in video format) because my parents haven't seen a movie since 2002 LOL

term 4 day 1

Time flies and it's not fun :(

So much of me wants to be finished with year 12 by now, but first I have to finish year 11 HAHA

But then the other part of me wants time to slowwww down so I can make the most of what I've got left of school

Practice exams completely screwed up today, we had 8 people in Chem and 9 people in English...it's really awkward having a small class =/ (unless it's music...we got a practice period cos there were only 3 of us :P)

Erika got her braces off last weekish :D they look awesome, and the chip got filed down so it's unbelievably straight now. Her plate gives her the funniest lisp (say "irish wristwatch!" ... "irishrishrish") and we laughed over that at recess...then at lunch we discovered Min pronounces the word "advanced" like an English person "advaaahhhnced". Irene found it SOOOO funny and the rest of us didn't understand why she was killing herself laughing about it. Five minutes later, everyone is laughing at the thought of cavemen attempting to communicate, and Irene didn't even crack a smile o.o

I have stacks to do, ciao

xo
ps also I remember my dream from last night (again)...I was a top journalist who just started a new job writing columns for the herald sun, and I had the most perfect life o.o and these 2 interns tried to get into an exclusive journo party under my name, but the ID requirement was that they had to know my favourite flavour of smoothie

I know why the smoothie is relevant (Susan shouted me Boost the other day)...but wth!

dream

I remembered it

I dreamt I was on exchange in Japan, and I went to buy eyedrops (the cute square ones) and presents for friends

I got confused with converting the currency and accidentally spent $88 on 1 pencil and $23 on the eyedrops...which turned out to be an eraser in the shape of the eyedrop thing :(

also dreamt something to do with Saw but it wasn't scary o.o can't remember that part haha

tomorrow and then ...ew

Today was my last shot at having fun before term 4 kicks in...so I went out with Susan and her kid sister (who, depressingly, has larger chesticles than both of us combined) to DFO :D none of us accomplished anything...except Susan had her eye on this coat that was very blairwaldorfy and so she thought she'd buy it after we'd looked at everything

And of course, because it has to happen like this....by the time she got back to the store, there were only 2 left and none of them were in her size :(

Trained to mc (I HAD A SUNDAY SAVER THIS TIME!! HUZZAH FOR HAVING ZIP CHANCE OF BEING FINED!! I so wanted a connex dude to check my ticket haha) and Susan persistently wanted to buy me a birthday present (very belated I know...so belated it's almost xmas) and was insisting on getting me another Pandora bead. I tried to deflect it by saying "oh I want a CD instead!" but I couldn't find the CD I wanted :(

EVENTUALLY she settled on getting me a body butter from The Body Shop :D SOOO worth it, I officially smell like cherry blossoms 100% of the time :)

apple sunnies !
