still sore, but not in the feet :(

i lie, my feet are still sore

my legs feel like bricks and my feet are battered up from iceskating today :) which was worth it, havent been in ages. mike and mark didn't end up coming, so fred pimped it with sam, viv, erika, min and me :D we had fun though, nothing especially interesting happened - meaning no one fell over or crashed, but i think min kinda tripped a kid.

the thing thats pissing me off right now are my damn braces/teeth...had to see the orthodontist today and i have a ridiculous elastic that goes diagonally across my front teeth. yes, right at the front of my mouth =__= i only have to wear it at night though, thank the good lord. and they also did something to my bottom teeth that scared me shitless O__O it sounded like they were grinding it down or something...sif they're not small enough already.

oh noo school starts in exactly a week *dies*

sore feet :(

woke up AND got up at 6am...pretty much the earliest i've ever woken up for the entire year and beyond :P i had a charity run on at 9 ("run for the kids", proceeds going to the royal childrens hospital), i think it was something like a 5.76km run/walk but there was the 15km one as well for the hardcore people :)

i was registered for the walk section, with megan + 10 more people (family, piano teacher and parents of students who learn from piano teacher LOL)...me, megan, dad and 2 others ran even though we were meant to walk, and it was surprisingly easy :D after 2km's i was still functioning normal, but i stopped cause my ankles have issues when i run on concrete. plus i had a stitch in 3 places ahahha. i think i have some kinda mild asthma, or maybe its just not good for me to stop running once i've started. i walked another 2kms (also cause it started to go uphill haha) and ran to the end, to make it look like i was so awesome and ran the entire way ;)

we had brunch and coffee afterwards, went home and......went back to the city with mum and gran to go shopping LOL. im on a desperate hunt for trackies that are NOT fluoro. or have hugeass writing on them. who the hell thought fluoro pants were fashionable?! i practically glow if i wore them

so yeah, i actually spent 4 hours at dfo and mc looking for trackies, only to realise that dobsons should have them =____= going iceskating tomorrow, if my feet can handle it

science vs religion

2nd post, i know but this was on my mind so i thought i'd share :)

on the train ride from chadstone to melb central, we started talking about the whole "science vs religion" thing...how much of our lives can be proven with science and how much of our lives just can't be explained

think about this one - everyone thinks and everyone has thoughts right? but how exactly can you know its there? you can dissect your brain up and say which parts of you brain think what kinds of thoughts, you can scientifically analyse all the electrochemical blahblahs....but there is no way you can know exactly what is going through another person's mind. i can look at you and say that i know you're thinking....but HOW do i know that?!

its exactly the same as this (if you choose to believe it anyway) - there's a God out there somewhere, but how do we know that? to put it simply, we don't. those who have faith that there's a God out there will believe it, the same way as we have faith that we all have thoughts, even though it can't really be proven

also goes with the big bang theory - do you believe that there was once a universe that...err, sucked up into a black whole and exploded and ended up with such perfect density that a new universe was created? that thought scared the shits outta me...it sounds complex but imagine it this way - there used to be another universe, human mankind screwed it up so badly and it exploded, and we got the chance to start over again...though at this rate, we're gonna screw it up again and the universe will explode and the cycle begins again

ok, im starting to go round in circles and jot down things that only seem to make sense to me...but remember this - darkness is the absence of light, cold is the absence of heat and evil is the absence of God. i'm not religious, i'd call myself agnostic because there's just too much out there that can't be explained.

EARTH HOUR

turn out your lights NOW!

decided to go to chaddy with erika to go see "the eye"....called up min 10 minutes before my train left to get her to come to, and because of her we nearly missed the movie :) i swear to god i'm never going to chaddy by public transport again...its my nearest shopping centre if i get driven, but it takes 2 train lines and a bus (sometimes a tram) to get there otherwise =__=

the movie was great though, i love *horror* movies. it wasn't so scary, but min kept freaking out next to me, which scared me more than whatever was happening in the movie :P

after that we went back to mc (we love it) and i'm not sure how, but fred ended up with us as well, and we played pool (again)...the coin slot was stuck, which was AWESOME cause it meant unlimited games :D somehow along the way we lost one of the balls, and somehow along the way we found it again :) one thing i don't understand is how fred can plan his shots so well....the things he can do are the things i fluke (i fluked some pretty good ones though hahaha)

aanyway, then we bought a giant teddy for irene's birthday and i'm yet to get viv something (SORRY!! cant find material anywhere to make you a cake :()

okay.

so it occured to me that my blog is becoming more than just an outlet for my thoughts, and that people do visit my page and read what i've written. so yes, i know i'm getting hits (scroll down to the bottom and theres a number :P i'm watching youu)

therefore, the things that i write will definately make no sense whatsoever to anyone but myself and people who know me in person

so i think its introduction time :)

you probably gathered my name is sophie :) the people i talk about in my blogs are most likely to be my mates from school (and friends of friends haha), or my closest friends out of school.

school people - we generally hangout in mc (melbourne central), which i suppose is a shopping centre/train station, but we seem go there to do everything BUT shop haha. barcode = ...games arcade? no thats not right...theres a bowling alley and pool tables, and i think its a bar at night time :) but yes, we go there for the pool tables hahahaha. chinatown's another place we sometimes end up at, cause we're all asian haha (i don't fit in too well there, it smells funny.)

if im not going on about what we get up to in our spare time, i'm probably complaining about school or homework. self-explainitory, im asian ok?! haha. school is generally ok, i suffer at maths and thats the only thing that worries me. music is another one i seem to spend a lot of time on, reason being that i'm doing my licentiate exam next year and vce 1/2 this year...might write about that some other time when its eating my brain

speaking of music, i need to go practice..i have a lesson later hahhaa

holidays 1/4 over :(

this is nuts, its already been...5 days of the term 1 holidays =/ i feel like i've done absolutely nothing, with the exception of getting addicted to grey's anatomy, and today :)

today was fun though, the usual bunch of people went to the usual place and did the usual thing :) ie, pool and movies at mc hahaha

funniest thing ever, on the escalator up to the toilets (mins contacts were stabbing her eyes, silly girl somehow got mascara on the inside of them O_O) out conversation went like this:

min: hey that guy in the checkered shirt has hot hair
*guy turns around*
me: yeah, but not the face.

i bet he heard us, cause min was hellaaaaa embarrassed :P and on the way up to barcode, min goes "shit, i bet he's playing pool on the table next to erika's"

and whaddaya knowww, hes right there hahahaha

we watched drillbert taylor (funnyy :D) and went back to barcode agaaain, and outside were a bunch of guys breakdancing (or trying to) and min was standing there staring...after a few minutes we realised it was the checkered shirt guy again HAHAHHA i bet he was completely creeped out by then :P

aanyways, i better do something productive with the rest of my holidays...i know its gonna fly past, and i havent even touched my homework. though i've been getting 2 hours of piano-ing a day...it better pay off by the time vce/lmus rolls round, or i'll dig myself a hole and cry myself to death

holidays day one

parents have gone out to rye to paint our new beach house, leaving me stranded at home with gran...which is fine, but boring. cooking 2 minute noodles for myself almost proved to be a disaster...do you have a problem with me pouring too much water?? obviously the bowl did.

so now i dug out some paints and pencils and opted for being tidy...so im just drawing around with pencils cause i figured i'd make a mess if my paints were involved. either way i seemed to have made a mess...theres pencil lead and shavings everywhere hahaha

hope the holidays will be entertaining in some way...but considering the folks are gonna be painting for the next 3 days, it looks like i'll be stuck right here for the next 3 days too.

bring on tuesday!!

crazy hair day pt. 2

5 minutes of teasing at school (thanks shelby) + a lot of hairspray = success. though it took an hour to untangle, and a lot of conditioner to get my hair kinda close to normal.

thanks amanda for the photo :D though cameraphone quality always sucks and i look yellow :P

damn the flat asian hair-unable-to-hold-anythingness. poofed out the sides and the back, but wtf is up with the top? i look like an asian sweeney todd without the white

4 days to go

cant....wait....til..the....HOLIDAYS

*dies*

oh my god, be proud of me!! i got 61% on the methods test :D :D yeah it sounds crap doesnt it....but its the average score over all the methods classes...and by my standards, its pretty good. actually i did really good on the tech free one (14 outta 16 :D :D), but the multiple choice/application question one.....screw that x__x overall im still as shit as ever at maths, but i earned bragging rights cos i beat min-my-almighty-mathsnerd on the tech free :) whee.

i finished reading a book called "noughts and crosses" by malorie blackman...really, really good book that i'd been meaning to read for aaaages, but it was restricted to year 10+ in our library and now that im in year 10...i borrowed it :D its an aaawesome book...basically its about discriminations against whites instead of blacks. blacks are crosses and whites and noughts, and theres a complex storyline involving 2 friends - one cross and one nought. its pretty damn incredible, and i think its in a series of 3 books...so im continuing on :) read it, seriously!

basically, im screwed

maths sac/test/exam/whatever it is tomorrow.....yeah im REALLY screwed, been having seizures about it since lunchtime. i spent 4 hours hardcore cramming and it actually felt REALLY good.

it was like i became a factorising and graphing ninja or something...up until i got to the extended response questions, which gave me another seizure and now i feel like crap again.

im just gonna pray to god for a miracle or 500 that the questions will be easy as crap. pray with me people...!

RETREAT '08

HEAPS FUN!!

not your usual hardcore camping with tents etc, and it was more talking than doing things...but it was great all the same :) the place had a fricken pool table! and a piano! those things haunt me wherever i go haha :P it took less than an hour to get there (i think it was mt mortons lodge or something?) and the place had a bball, volleyball and tennis court, a trampoline, ropes courses, flying fox and other things.

the first day was talking about things we were concerned about at school (man shoes, no common room, food prices etc) and we tried to solve them or come up with action plans to fix them :) we had a speaker come in called Arthur Bolkas (not sure if i spelt that right) who was basically the PERFECT student ever in year 12 - dux, school captain, lead roles in productions, potential law student etcetc.....but exremely depressed and went off the rails during uni. he stole from TABs, got into drugs, went to jail for around 5 years...contemplated suicide before finding God and realising that he has to turn his life around. maaaan, that speech almost had me in tears a few times and even made min want to be christian (though that probably isn't gonna happen). before dinner we got into our Idol groups to rehearse our presentations for tomorrow lmao. around dinner time we started going round the room saying what we loved about our school and that pretty much made us all feel warm and fuzzy afterwards hahaha. we played celebrity heads, but with jobs from the careers guide instead. that was pretty stupid considering most of us didn't know what an arbourist was and had to look it up in the job guide...its kinda hard to guess what job you have cause theres so many out there o_o. ended the night with a freezing shower

day 2 was hard to wake up to for some reason, but the day started and we all got rolling :) had 3 rotations - another guest speaker who had already come to our school before, careers fast track presentation and a stress management presentation. the guest speaker was an artist who told stories and he had a similar situation as the other guy, except he was pretty much a high school drop-out who fell under peer pressure and stuff...also found God and now his life is on track :) he basically gave us pastels to draw with while he talked and i had a great messy time :P he drew an amazing picture and then said "this is what happens when you life is messed up" and scribbles randomly all over it D: then he says "this is what happens when you're successful in fixing it" and makes the drawing even more amazing <3. careers advice was good as well, just some stuff about what jobs would suit our personality and dont go for careers that you wont enjoy etc. stress management was also ok, the relaxation thing we did at the end was awesome...all of us felt like we had a great sleep at the end of it haha. had some free time after all that, we played some volleyball and soccer, then our group had to rehearse for the performance again. the performance was on after dinner and we all looked ridiculous in our costumes and makeup :P i was a cannon, then a naughty boy, then a hawaiin princess? our play was seriously screwed up we all thought....it was about a little boy orphan called Timmy Loo who dreams of his father being killed before stealing hawaiin treasures...so when he wakes up, he wants to go to hawaii to get the treasures o_o he meets the hawaiin contiki princesses and has a drink before realising the drinking fountain has the treasures on it hahahhha. we somehow managed to win, along with a group who did a performance about shoes, and another group who did a parody of the teachers which was hilarious and very accurate :P after Idol, we all sat in a circle and had a bit of a massage session which was aaaaawwwwwwesssssomeeee <3 great way to finish off our last night :)

the last day, we just packed up in the morning, had a service (i forgot to bring my music for it and the rev went insane trying to find it and in the end it looked like i was gonna be musicless :( so i prayed for it and whaddaya know...i get my music brought to me the next day :D) and we went on puffing billy before we went home :D :D so funnn. got raped a few times by mozzies over the night, i had 7 on my legs and i got bitten on the boob and bum =/ all in all, a great 3 days followed by a 3 day long weekend...MOOMBA!!!

camp tomorrow!!

so flippin excited, ITS NOT SCHOOL OH MY GOD!

its mostly careers stuff i'm told, plus korowa idol :) i think there's a flying fox & we get to go on puffing billy! hahaha

last years people...apparently someone got soot in their eye from the train hahahah. actually thats not funny. and the year before, someone stood on a chunk of metal =/ something like that...hope nothing bad happens to us this year :)

its nice to get away from homework. what sucks is that the minute we get back, we'll start drowning in work again

also, had a chat with kevjumba and happyslip yesterday...my god that was the coolest yet most normal thing ever o_o heaps fun :)

feeling somewhat better

i woke up this morning and i was either super hungry, or still feeling like i had a huge meal

so i had some breakfast and realised i was FRICKEN STARVING. didn't over eat in case i really did throw up :) and then i had kfc for lunch LOL

10+ hours of sleep really did me good. its only been a few weeks of school, and look what it's done to me....imagine me at the end of the year, im gonna be a pretty bad mess haha :P

missed out on chinese school, but certainly didn't miss out on the homework (thanks a lot susan, you really had to bring it home to me didnt you). thank god next week is labour day holiday, the week after is the last class...then i think i'll just drop chinese altogether, it takes up too much of my time =__=

finishing off my business plan for business studies, due in on monday....along with jap, maths, english essay and an ethics sac. hooraaaah.
