teethy shoes!

Gotta love Min's $35 shoes from Kmart...

Personally, I hate breaking in new shoes - I'd rather buy good shoes that last years for $70, then buy cheap shoes that you have to replace over 4 years :)

i have a life!

Got out of the house, wooo!

Had an AWESOME piano lesson this morning with Stephen McIntyre - he's such a quirky guy and amazing at piano (obviously). Gave me a few little tips here and there...nothing hard to fix, but some pretty drastic changes are gonna happen to my music over the next few months! Pretty excited, and it's probably the first time I've been pumped to practice piano in a while :) Can't wait to practice tonight! (but I'll have to ditch Earth Hour...)

Went to Chadstone afterwards with Amanda and Erika to buy Irene a birthday present :) ERIKA BOUGHT GREEN CONTACTS YESTERDAAYY! They look pretty awesome..

We were gonna make some kinda scrapbook for Irene but we ended up going to Build-a-Bear! LOVE THAT STORE, I WANNA WORK THERE!! We chose a [pretty cute] bear and this [pretty cute] guy stuffed it for us - all the other customers were little kids and the conversation was like this:

Bearstuffer: Hi, what's your name? :D
Little Girl: *shy* Mary
Bearstuffer: Okay Mary, can you go over there for me and take a heart to put in your bear?
Little Girl: *shy* okay...

...and then we come along

Bearstuffer: Hi.....uhh.......wanna grab a heart to put in your bear?
Me: Can we have five hearts?!
Bearstuffer: o.o uuuum...yeah okay
Us: WOO
Bearstuffer: ...this is a present for someone right?

So we bought the bear some overalls and named him Cookies (that name decision literally took 10 minutes - it was a tossup between Butter, Butterscotch, Stitch, Butterstitch, Tommy, Timmy, Bobby, Bing and Bong, Fluffhead etc etc)

Shopped around for fun after that :) I looked into SLR cameras....the Nikon D60 is the one that's in my price range and I WANT IT REALLY BAD haha...the twin lens set is about $1000, but the normal one is $800 which is okay! The extra $200 I guess I can spend on a macro lens instead :D PLUS if gran can get it for me Duty Free...........woohoo! I've saved almost $400 for it so I guess that's my life savings gone :(

Walked past some pretty paintings...

We ended up at the newsagency and bought Irene a card, then sat in Gloria Jeans and started writing in it (TIM TAM DRINK FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg its actually sex in a cup PLUS CHOCOLATE SAUCE)

ENGLISH PARTYYY

Our English teacher is gunna go to Japan for....2 years or something O.O so we had a party in English today!! IM IN LOVE WITH GRAPE CHAMPAGNE (FAKE) and Vivian (ウニ) made an amazing chocolate ripple cake in the shape of a Japanese flag hahahaha

other irrelevant photos from today - mine and Amanda's amazing ionic lattice! and Min's REALLY broken shoe, which someone stole off her and put in the freezer. I have no idea why :)

Also went for a run today after school, cos I skipped out on cross-country and I felt guilty - I AM SOOOO UNFIT!!! IM GONNA FAIL THE RUN FOR THE KIDS NEXT WEEK =____=

grr

So that chem test I did a few days ago...I had a great feeling about it (minus the silly mistakes), but I got it back today

76% :(

She didn't give me ANY marks for correct method, but incorrect answer?? WTF =__= I wanna re-sit it, but she won't let me cos apparently 76% isn't crap enough. I guess that makes me feel a little better :(

The sad (or happy) thing is - maths is becoming my best subject O.O I seem to be averaging above 90% for spesh maths lately...woo? THAT'S SO WEIRD LOL, I'VE GOTTEN INTO THE HABIT OF SAYING MATHS IS MY WORST HAHA

Only thing I need to get back is my English SAC - then I'll see what my best subject (excluding music) is...hmm

And we also had Jap with St Kevs today - man, no offence but they pretty much all suck at Jap...they actually had to read off a sheet of paper to say "My name is ___" O.O They had issues reading as well...which basically made the whole lesson a bit of a waste of time. Their whole class was non-asian (except one guy that Erika/Bethany/I know from band) as opposed to our class ahahah. The fun part was eating free sushi - which has now given me a sick tummy cos i swear its not healthy to leave sushi in gladwrap for an hour without eating it =__=

(yes, RE is religious education and PE is physical education...none of this "gym" business over here! haha)

oops

I LOVE Tuesday's cos my timetable looks like this

Double Music
RE (ie, watching movies)
Spare
Maths (ok I don't like that..)
Psych

But today, Leah and I kinda...skipped RE, and not even on purpose LOL. We thought we had a spare first, and then RE but...yeah, everyone came out of the theatrette going "WHERE ARE YOU" and we were like

...oops

So we spent RE doing work/playing bubblewrap on Amanda's touch...then in the actual spare, we camwhored with Em&D on photobooth aaahhahaha so fun :P I would post them up, but yknow...stalker paranoia for wearing uniform (our uniform isn't exactly subtle, haha)

xo
(ps, we're having double jap tomorrow with st kevs...yay =__= all i want is Erika's dad to make us food, but we get ew tuckie food instead)

frustrating things v1

Chem test was GRRR!! There was one question where I did EVERYTHING right except for SOME reason my numbers turned out to be wrong - ie I CAN'T PUSH BUTTONS ON A CALCULATOR =____= Also, don't you hate it when you write the right answer, cross it out and re-do it the WRONG way?! I DID THAT!!! RAH it's so frustrating... so those two things lost me at least 4 marks, but I love the feeling when you find a wrong answer whilst you're checking your work and correct it :D

I also got 4 missed calls from a private number at random times throughout the day? And Fred called me 3 times and texted me twice - ALL REGARDING MIN. He's gone from a lovely boyfriend to a crazy obsessive stalker to the point where all her friends are annoyed with him =__= I've discovered I'm always the person that boyfriends use to communicate with their girlfriend - a walking mobile phone answering machine if you like. Amanda's always the friend-of-the-friend's-boyfriend, and Erika's the permanent-third-wheeler aaahahhaha. I don't care that I'm the personal messenger but an occasional HI SOPH HOW ARE YOU would be nice, instead of "HEY IS MINS PHONE OFF, HEY DID MIN LOSE HER PHONE, HEY REMIND MIN TO BRING MONEY, HEY WHERE'S MIN GOING AFTER SCHOOL TODAY, HEY BRING A HAIR CURLER FOR MIN"

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

so the other day we kinda messed with Fred's brain...

(via sms)
Fred: Did min 4get her fone agn? Can u ask her wats happening 2day?
Me: hello to you too. leah forgot her jumper today :)
Fred: O.o lol soph? Err can u ask min bout afta skool? Ty.
Me: after school amandas gonna go buy asian 2 minute noodles!!!!!

I think he took my word for it and believed Min was going with Amanda to go buy noodles, cos he didn't reply after that

red hot needles :D

Messed around with needles in chem today

One was cooled at room temp, one was cooled by shoving it in cold water asap :) The room temp one was meant to be bendy, and the cold water'd one was meant to snap...Amanda and I failed, but it was fun watching them turn red :D

AND WE HAD ORCHESTRA TODAY! I have no idea why I was so excited for it - I guess orchestra's the only reason why I touch the flute these days :) New people in the flute section woo! I'm a 1st this year and the pieces just happen to be really high =__= way to make my sinus feel like it's gonna faint

sore

I don't know if my neck/shoulders hurt because of the way I sleep, because of excessive piano practice, because of excessive homework or because of excessive computer use, but its not getting better and it sucks (cos if something sucks...it's not getting better..)

Asian remedies? Stick on some gold stickers :D

No really, these things BURN =_____=

Piano teacher says it's the weather, and she told me I need to go to a day spa and have a massage and sit in a sauna :P unfortunately that's not gonna happen...

For now I'm gonna try sleeping without a pillow cos I feel like a hunchback, use heatpacks and pray to god I don't need an acupuncturist. Or worse, a myotherapist D:

So I had my recital today, and afterwards the "big kids" bagged the theatre room at Susan's to watch So You Think You Can Dance...

The dances were the usual - incredible, passionate, sexy etc and the year 5-7 boys were like EWWWWWWW ITS PORNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S SO GAAAAAY WHAT IS THIS SHITTTTTT

And...

Me: You think dance is shit? Can you dance?
Boy: ....

Yeah that shut them up...hahaha, but really, was I that immature in year 5?? Well I'm not a boy but still O.O

Me: hence "discombobulated"
Min: wtf is that o.o?
Me: The state you're in now
Me: ie confused

Min: hahahha you're like george...wishful thinker
Me: who's george...fred's twin? bob's twin? ahhaha stop making up names
Min: GEORGE WITTON FROM THE MOVIE WE'RE STUDYING, YOU DUMBASS!!
Me: ooooohh now THAT is why i'm gunna fail english...

haircut :D

So Erika and I went to the city, didn't have a clue what we wanted to do because we were too lazy to go to Moomba...

So I spontaneously decided to get a haircut :) Not much difference at all, just shortened the layers, fixed the fringe and kept the length...

and I finally have new clothes to wear...new shirt from Threadless. THERE ACTUALLY IS A MELBOURNE STORE!! 441 Elizabeth St!! I was staring out the tram window and STILL almost missed it, it's REALLY inconspicuous D:

WOO.

(also went to Min's house and fussed over her dog - her room is so messy, but really cut off from the rest of her house...love it!!)

bystander effect

PRETTY ANNOYED AT LEAH HAHA!!

Ok, so 2 hours ago I was pissed for real, no laughing matter at all =___= here's how the bystander effect went down......

Went to Amanda's house, got changed and practiced dropping oranges until we got it good and convincing :D Went to Safeway and started testing it out outside...

THINGS THAT FAILED
1) A group of 10 people from our school were there to watch. And instead of watching inconspiciously, they STOOD RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE IN A HUGE GROUP. We told them to piss off, and then they got angry at us ("well now that you've talked to us, everyone's gunna know its an experiment!") and in turn, WE got angry at them because there was no reason for anyone to be angry at anyone...yeah get your head around that one hahahah

2) LEAH!!!! NEVER use someone who is shy/embarrassed to trip over!!!!!! We thought it would be funny cos she's the lanky kinda person, but EVERY time there was a PERFECT moment to trip (ie, a group of school guys walk over) she would simply walk normally and do nothing =__= MAN was I pissed off, we were taking FAR too long to do a simple experiment and I was hungry, tired and sick...I WANTED TO GO HOME :( We wanted to replace her with me halfway through the experiment, but we would have to start from the beginning again...though we ended up agreeing that starting again wouldn't take as long as continuing with Leah. I personally reckon its cos Victor and stuff were hanging around distracting her, cos they disappeared for a bit and Leah tripped twice while they were gone

3) People start disappearing after 5-6 o'clock - the point was to test the affect of people, and it made no sense cos there were no people anyway, and having a few extras made no difference

I would do it again properly some other time and use ME as a person to trip and drop oranges, cos I honestly don't give a crap about embarrassing myself in front of people I'll never see again - I embarrass myself in front of people I know on a daily basis so it doesn't make a difference :P but I really can't be stuffed because it's SO time consuming and there's so much room for error

Leah - you suck, but I love you :D now that the whole thing is over, I'm not as angry and it's quite funny to think about it :P

our results were:

0 bystanders - 1 caucasion female in her late 20's; 1 asian man in his 40's stole an orange (FORREAL LOL)
1 bystander - 2 teenagers, a boy and a girl
2 bystanders - 1 asian man in his 40's, 1 caucasian female in her 30's
3 bystanders - 2 caucasian females (20-40) and 1 african male (20's)
3 bystanders (this is meant to be 4 but psh) - 1 indian male, 1 indian female

psych

I'm really excited....hahaha, we have to conduct a research experiment for psychology, and we've decided to do it tomorrow

So what we're gonna do, is walk out of a supermarket with bags and bags of stuff...someone is gonna drop everything by accident (eg oranges, so they'll roll away) and we have to record how many people offer to help them

Then we repeat that experiment 5 times, and add a bystander each time. The larger the number of bystanders, the less likely others will offer to help...cos if there's more people, others will assume someone else will help and not do anything :)

I REALLY wanna film it LOL, I proposed that Leah should do it cos she's lanky and clumsy looking...except she probably won't keep a straight face so we'll see :P

pear baby

Amanda's child, beautifully wrapped and tied up with a piece of veggie

Then I ate it for lunch.

So I was going nuts over persuasive writing yesterday, and I got it done no problem today...AND NOW I'M GOING NUTS OVER EXPOSITORY!!!!! WTF!!!!!! AS YOU CAN TELL I CANNOT CONTAIN EMOTION AND WRITE FACTUALLY!!!!!!! ...but I have 3 periods to write a 500-600 word essay - I'll bludge around tomorrow and figure it out on the weekend

In the meantime, I seriously need to recover from this throat problem going on with me right now...I don't feel unwell at all, but I talk like a dying duck :( And I'm pissed I didn't get to see Victor or Brian properly...and especially pissed that I didn't get to embarrass Leah in front of them :D hahahahhaaaaaaaahhahaldjhfhuaidjslk

Aftermath of carnival

Before After

I am actually beyond depressed.

In other news, our English context SAC's begin tomorrow...and I'm not worried at all

The fact that I'm not worried is making me worried :)
