Together for Victoria

Yesterday - Rehearsal photos

My bell station :)

Cameras directly next to me (which is why you probably didn't see me on telly)

The view I had from my station - I was positioned in the best spot out of all 9 of us, poor Sara was behind the stage and hung with the choir

Lights projecting pretty things onto the roof

Annabelle and our awesome school choir + barnesy lmao

Ian Henderson on the right (he's so short! newsdesks are decieving haha) and Larry on the left who co-ordinated the ENTIRE show in a week - something that usually takes 3 months to arrange!! Also as a bit of trivia for you guys, the guy who scored the orchestration did it in TWO DAYS!!! That stuff would take me two years to do...

Bruce & Clare Woodley, and Merelyn and David Carter singing I Am Australian - we were all crying and this was just the REHEARSAL! I've recorded this on my phone and if anyone wants it, gimme a buzz and I'll work out how to get it OFF my phone haha

Our wristbands (yes I chewed the excess off with my teeth...)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Today was an amazing experience - I cried like a massive sop, but I'm pretty sure everyone in the entire arena were crying endlessly. Lucy started the show off, the audience had started to ring their little bells a bit early but it sounded SO perfect anyway. I was standing there thinking CRAP I'm crying already and it's just bells going off!! The national anthem was AMAZING, I cried during Hallelujah, I got MASSIVE shivers during One Voice and I nearly cried in I Am Australian, but I held it back and sung along. The lamest thing was in the closing song (Touch) - it was such a GRAB-A-RANDOM-AND-DANCE moment EXCEPT I WAS HANGING OUT BY MYSELF WITH NOBODY TO DANCE WITH :(

After the event, a lady walked behind me and saw a firefighter and got incredibly emotional - the firefighter was SO humble, such a true hero. Many were in the audience, along with the PM, MP's, Princess Anne, UN officials, religious figures etc etc (Anne and Georgie were ringing the bell after they spoke, I totally got inapprpriately overexcited about that...) and it kinda felt like everyone in the audience had equal importance and right to be there, or maybe that's just what I felt :) It was really lovely to have people thank us afterwards, it just felt like we were doing a small bit to bring some peace to everyone who has been affected :)

I'm sure most of you caught it on TV or online - if not, I know it'll be up on the premiers site some time soon and most likely on youtube. Catch highlights on the news today!

I saw it live, then watched it again on the news with my dad. :D

So, THAT'S why I didn't see you there. :P
