today was awesome, probably gonna be the best day of careers week. so yesterday we watched some boring clips about work experience and today we met the guy who was in the video HAHA! his name's alf, and he took our group/house for a bit of job skills training...we started off the day with a mock interview which was pretty good. had to wear appropriate clothes and stuff, and i got 42 out of 50 :D got marked down for missing eye contact for a second =__= which is pretty lame. oh well, i'll stare the hell out of the interviewer the next time i get the chance *nods*
afterwards, we wrote up a resume and letter sample...not the most interesting. did a panel elimination interview ish thing (CLOTHING 4 KAGS FAGS LOL) which was strange and hard. but me, steph and aleesha were left at the end :D then! we played/did the 3 minute test. go grab a piece of paper and do this now (shall edit it a bit):
1. Read everything before doing anything
2. Print your full name in block letters in the upper right-hand corner of this paper
3. White your birth date under your name
4. Draw five small squares in the upper left-hand corner of this paper
5. Circle the word "name" in question 2
6. Put your left hand in the air for 3 seconds
7. Put an X in the lower left-hand corner of this paper
8. If you are enjoying this test say "Yes" out loud", if not say "No"
9. On the right margin of this paper, multiply 66 by 2
10. Write your phone number under your birth date
11. If you think you have followed directions carefully to this point, call out "I have"
12. On the left margin of this paper add 69 and 98
13. Underline your name at the top of the page
14. Stand up, turn around once and sit down
15. If you currently have a job, write "Yes" under your phone number, if not write "No"
16. Now that you have finished reading carefully, as instructed in sentence 1, do only sentence number 2. Then turn your paper over and wait quietly until the test is finished.
...............done it?....LOL AT QUESTION 16!!! well, pretty much the whole class fell for it except like 3 people. I was the first person to talk out loud haha, i feel pretty stupid :] after that, we filled out and application form and signed it....nobody read the contract we signed (except sally, but she signed it anyway) and it said "by signing this contract you agree that you will be paid one dollar per hour"...WOOPS :D hahahah. alf told us stories about how he became a job skills trainer and stuff, hes hilarious. we role played out sexual harrassment and what an employee can do about it AND HIS WIFE WALKED IN HAHA :P the whole day was really fun, wish we could've done more yesterday instead of waste it on watching videos =__=
oh and go youtube charlotte nicdao, his daughter's an amazing singer :O
