nocturnal

I've discovered these holidays that I'm a night person...I'd rather NOT go and have brunch with my mates cos I'm not even awake, but having dinner at a relaxed cafe is the BEST! If only this was asiaaaa and shops were open til 10...and if only my parents weren't so oooold and could pick me up from people's houses at 3am :(

Sam&Tam's party was really fun, mostly cos everyone at school I care about was there :) so it was good to see them all, eat food and dip chips into the wrong dips (Viv). There was some guitar hero, extreme uno, foosball, a piano, loud music and dancing...Lisa and Amanda taught Erika and me their dance from NYSF (who knew they would dance at nerd camp?) and I'm pretty sure I was laughing the whole way through it.

Funniest part was when Min was convinced some guy had a 6 pack and was trying to get him to flash it at us, but then Eric came along and was like I HAVE A 6 PACK and got a texta and drew 6 rectangles on his body...under the belly button? HAHA.

Erika made an amazing gingerbread house for them and it tasted sooo goood! Viv's Ronaldo soccer jersey cake also tasted amazing but after diving it into about 30 slices, Eric said it looked like diarrhea with blood in it =_____________= and he HAD to say that when it was in my mouth...ahh :( So at the end of the night I had consumed WAY too much sugar and now my skin has suffered the consequences...I also took like 3 photos, so I'm relying on someone elses camera for photos of that amazing gingerbread houseee!

Bridge Rd with Steph and Susan today :) Went to Steph's place first and Chris had a WHOOOLE bunch of friends over...that kid has grown up wayyy too quickly! We left the house before all of them did, but ended up waiting at the tram stop for half an hour, and the rest of them caught up to us by the time the tram came. I didn't buy anything (because I'm broke and I'm leeching off mum) but had a good browse anyway...probs gonna go back to help Lisa look for formal dresses soon :)

We ended up in the city, took some photos at photoworld (it bothers me that there's 5...the OCD in me wants to fill that last gap argh)

aand a tribute to 2007

...and Susan bought some heels at Scooter. She had to go home because Ben and Andy were coming over, so Steph and I ate out at a cafe and bitched about school, music, guys, girls and all that gossipy stuff...we so didn't feel like going home afterwards but here I am full of pizza, avoiding homework and looking for sheet music from the TV/movie Madeline :) so far no success but we'll see...

BEST FREAAAKIN RESTAURANT EVER!
Pretty sure I say that about every restaurant, but this place had kickassssssss dessert! Main course was good ol' roast beef and veggies...traditional, but delishhhhhh :D Susan had steak and kidney pie, Surae had chicken parcels or something...serious case of meny envy, haha

OH BUT THE DESSERT!

Choc Nut Fudge Brownies with icecream and chocolate sauce...HEAVEN. I ate a bite of everyone's dessert...next time, I gotta have the bread and butter pudding WTFF HOW CAN SOMETHING SO NICE BE MADE FROM BREAD AND BUTTER!

Afterwards, we parted ways with Susan's family and took our asian fam friends for a drive up to the Skyhigh cafe and check out the view :) Reliving Urban 07 moments! (oh Leah how I love you HAHAHAHHAHAHA)

Can't believe it's been 2 years since Urban...life is ridiculously different now - I was perfectly happy with life back then and the only thing that hasn't changed is that I'm perfectly happy now :) GOD I LOVE LIFE HAHA (it's the post-lmus relief, hopefully it never goes away LOL)

So here I am in 2009, 200% excited to watch Rove tonight and 500% exploding with food............

I LOVE LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I PASSED LMUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But we'll get back to that...

SO yesterday, Susan and I spent the night at Sofitel!! Dad has membership to some golf club, and got a free night for us so we checked in at 2pm and went shopping from MC to DFO and everything in between (bought nothing...haha)!

Later that night, her fam + my fam + piano teacher had a beautiful dinner in No. 35...7 course taster menu OH MY LORD it was incredible!

No. 1; pre teaser (crab or something)

No. 2; sashimi crystal bay prawns - wakimi - organic white tea & apple ice
[forgot to take a pic since I didn't eat it cos 1) I hate prawn and 2) ...RAW PRAWN?]

No. 3; Pecora ricotta & yolk ravioli - "sous vide" hen wing - foie gras - cavelo nero

No. 4; David Blackmore's wagyu rib-eye - ms 9+ and creamed bintjes pine mushrooms - quince

No. 5; lime & sago soda

No. 6; Woodside goats curd - warm truffled manuka honey - lavender oil - brioche

No. 7; Iced coconut shards - dry lychee meringue - white rum jelly - jaina snow
[forgot to take a pic again...too busy digesting, haha]

And if you're wondering how I have an amazing memory for the menu, it's cos we got to take it home...I have NO idea what all the foreign food names mean, it's like Masterchef hahaha

Ladies (cold Susan wearing my jumper on my right, AND THE BEST PIANO TEACHER IN THE WORLD ON MY LEFT ♥ ! + very awesome mums)

Watched Keeping Mum until the pirated disc failed, then watched The Prince and Me cos...we're girls and we like bad predictable chick flicks HAHA. Chatted til 2am about girly things and fell asleep in out VERY SOFT BEDS WTF I was up to my eyeballs in mattress and pillow, no joke

--------------------------------------

SO TODAY, we woke up at 10:30, checked out an hour later and went to eat brunch somewhere...trekked all the way to Beetroot on Hardware Lane (URBAN!) and I had a ham&cheese croissant + their awesome hot chocolate with fairy floss on top yumm! Lame Susan watched me eat...

I got out my phone after brunch and I was like WTF why do I have 5 missed calls from Dad and home?? So I cbf'd calling them back and went walking around to find food for Susan...then I realised I had an sms on top of the missed calls

From Dad (who has great texting skills....) "Congratulations on your award of L-mas (LOL it's like xmas, but lmas...wtff). Well done, sophie. We are proud of you"

So I basically screamed in the middle of a salad bar...called mum, who was SOO angry that Dad delivered the news LOL. They were having a war of who could get through to me first :P

SO YUP, after that we watched The Proposal, which I thought was funny...I guess both of us were in a girly movie mode :) we considered Transformers, but neither of us were up for a long movie...

Bought shoes for the formal on the way home! From Nine West cos they're on sale...hahaha

MAKES ME SOOO TALL! Comfy enough to last for 4 hours without dropping dead with blisters, and nobody's gonna see my feet anyway. Actually starting to get excited about this formal business...didn't really give a crap til I got voted on the committee, cos organising tables/invites/music etc sounds really fun!

AMANDA AND I ARE GONNA ROCK OUR FLOOR LENGTH DRESSES! hahahaha

RCH RUN FOR THE KIDS :D

Awake at 6am, bright and early! Thanks to daylight savings, it was actually 7am, so it wasn't excruciatingly painful :)

Crowd + portapotties! phwoar...30,000 people this year! and 20,000 of them ran the 14km course D:

The teaaaam! Minus Megan who did the 14km course...champ D:
(L to R - Dad, Lincoln, Susan's dad, Logan/Rebecca's dad and mum, my mum, my piano teacher, Susan's mum, my ex chinese teacher...and Susan + myself)

Green = 5.76km run, white = 5.76km walk

The mother of all hills at 3km (outside MGGS) KILLED me. I think I have asthma or something cos I could. not. breathe!!!

On/Off ran the next 2 km, and SPRINTED the last 760m aahahahah - came in at 53 mins. Susan (the tank) finished at 37 mins, her dad at 39 mins and my dad at 47 mins. We were all around 10 minutes faster last year :( The walkers finished at about 1 hr 12 minutes which was a lot slower than last year as well, but they were walking so all is forgiven haha. Lincoln took his wife's tag, and he was meant to be running therefore he cheated! ahahha

There were 2 guys dressed as Ironman and Superman which was the only interesting costumey thing I saw this year. There were people in robot outfits last year LOL

Had brunch at EQ afterwards - spanish omelette! The mini frying pan was SO cute and the bread was deceivingly crunchy x___x

After going home and showering (SO SWEATY HAHA) I found the energy (yet again) to go shopping in DFO - I NEED A FORMAL/L.MUS DRESS!!!!! I found a REALLY nice one in Garfunkle, but size 8 was just a biiiiiit too small for me to sit down and move around in :( I'M SO UPSET LOL, IT WAS SO APPROPRIATE FOR A PIANO RECITAL! They had size 12 but nooooooo, no size 10s :(

Photo does not do it justice at all...the top part is made out of this sheer stuff that covers the chest, so it's warm enough for winter. AND its really pretty at the back; kinda like a semi-low V shape...

See where my tummy is - YEAH I CAN'T BREATHE. I liked it cos its so different from my usual formal attire...I guess its a typical colour for me to pick but... :(

No luck finding shoes either - my keds are so worn out and they make my feet stink so bad after a day of shopping LOL

EDIT: OH I REMEMBER SOMETHING HILARIOUS!!!!! on the train trip home, there were these 2 kids and their parents - they were writing stuff in a notebook and showing each other...

Dad: *writes "Silly Mum"*
Little boy: *shows mum*
Mum: *writes "Silly Dad"*
Little boy: *shows dad*

*insert cute family laughter here*

Little girl: *writes "Sex in bed"*
Dad: =/ ......too far...
Mum: *furious* that's stupid, rip it out!!!!
