pride and prejudice

I think I may have been prejudiced against the text before I started it, which is why I dislike it so much

The movie/bbc series is pretty good! Makes you wanna live in those times :) Finished the series, then watched the Keira Knightly version with Susan tonight (she's OBSESSED!!!!!) instead of watching the womens tennis finals =/ Serena won :)

Ben and Andy were over as well, MY GOD HAVE THEY GROWN!!!!!! It's really strange seeing kids you haven't seen in years, because you'll always remember them as 4 and 7 year olds, when they are now 11 and 14 D: Andy's school captain this year and Ben's taller than me...and he's ball boy'ing for tomorrows mens tennis final!! Federer and Nadal WOOHOO!!

The heat is absolutely AWFUL

WTF!!!!

And you'd think our school would have AIR CONDITIONING!!

We pay $20,000 a year for our damn school and all we get are crappy fans...

The VCE centre is a huge bonus, there's aircon in the theatrette but that's about it. We let the theatrette door open and cool down the hall but some idiot shut the door and opened the door to the lockeroom and let the hot air flood back in

Psych is pretty good, I have a feeling it's gonna be my favourite subject this year :)

Chem is boring - not good, not bad...bearable I guess :/

English is STUPID, the teacher just talks and talks :( she's an awesome person but a terrible teacher...and she totally spoiled The Crucible for the entire class, ha

Music is the same as always, gossip etc - we're gonna go watch Mr Hall perform Carmina Burana (our set piece) with Victorian Opera which is exciting :D I hope it's an excursion, we never get one of those...haha

major procrastination

Holidays end in 2 days and I'm still sitting here playing games all day and not touching the remains of homework...

I need to find some good analysis material for Summertime by Leontyne Price and Billie Holiday, and Carmina Burana (O Fortuna). I can't be bothered thinking up my own descriptions of the melody, rhythms, articulation, texture etc etc :(

I stained my purple dress while I was eating dinner...stupid salad oils :( :( I tried to blot it up with tissue but it made it worse, so mum told me to soak the whole thing in cold water. The colour started to come out of it so mum rushed it out of the cold water and hung it out to dry just then

It's times like just then where I thank the weather for being 41 degrees :)

RYE FINALE

FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got there in the morning on Sunday and barged straight over to the beach :D Swam for a bit in the freezing water (according to Erika) and fried ourselves on the beach afterwards. Erika's dad brought over a stack of REAL sushi and we ate that for lunch...mum stressed out a bit because her dad's a chef and he was staying for dinner LOL

BURIED BODY WTF D: (*cough* Em's toe *cough*)

After lunch was all chill-time for us - we walked to the shops and Emma found her new love, a shop called Just Magic :D we bought these...

and Erika bought a skirt with these cute buttons pinned on it :D AND THEN WE TREATED OURSELVES WITH THE BEST GELATO IN THE WORLD

After shopping, we hit the beach again and Em and I discovered PIER JUMPING!!!!!!! OMFG ADDICTIVE!!! Plus, there was a penguin in the water swimming around...so cute! Creepy old men talked to us as well, which was just creepy...one guy had his hand on Ems shoulder for like a minute while he was talking and then pushed her into the water WTF. Some other oldish guy said happy new year to me and kept going on and on...ughh some people should just stop creeping out little girls LOL

We had dinner, then went to Safeway :D coz that's normal of us and all...bought some Pods, Nerds, sourcrapinatube, sourcrapinabottle, sourcrapinaspray, Curly Wurly and a Chomp. So basically a stack of junk food that we were totally high on for the rest of the night. That + camwhoring (coz we asian...well, almost) is a dodgy combination :)

No words can describe Emma...honestly O.O We went on the carnival thing that was set up nearby (which was pretty crap and overpriced) and even tried taking photos while on this STUPID ride called the Hurricane. It looked fun but IT WAS HELL!!!! We were all dizzy for the next half hour, I swear...

(HOW DOES THAT GIRL REMAIN BEAUTIFUL EVEN WHEN SPINNING AROUND IN CIRCLES!! DAMN BLONDE PEOPLE LOL...I love you :D)

Went off to the nearest petrol station to get lattes (yes I know...this was about 9pm, I have no idea why we wanted caffeine) and muck around there too...

FINAL FUN OF DAY ONE - ferris wheel :D and photos, of course.

...and the after effect of all the sugar/before bedtime (bedtime meaning watching chick flicks til midnight)

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! haha, the next day was pretty much the same thing - pier jumping and lazing around at the beach, soaking up the Australia Day atmosphere; everyone had their aussie flag bikinis, shirts, shorts, zinc faces etc...

PIER JUMPING (do NOT try the piggy back jump...it hurts like a bitch LOL)

...home is just not as fun :(

gen y & money

...Someone didn't pay dad $40,000 commission, so Dad had to take them to court, and he found out his solicitor is the mother of 2 girls that go to my school - the older one who is insanely smart and the younger one who the mother describes as "naughty" (ha)

Not sure how that little fact led to a massive discussion about my generation of people, but I hate how I come under the category of "Generation Y"

Apparently we're the ones who just wanna be happy all the time, we don't work very hard, change jobs every month, partying every weekend, travelling and not caring about money. Which is fine, but according to Dad: 1 year of carefree happiness just gets you 10 years of depression :D

Then he gave me the whole lecture on "just coz I give you money every fortnight and buy you iphone etc...I don't want you to think I'm spoiling you"

FIRST OF ALL EVERYBODY, I'M GETTING MY BRACES OFF ON WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! FOR REAL THIS TIME =__= AND GETTING THE PLATE/RETAINER WHATEVER THINGY ON THURSDAY!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOHOOO

YAY for Panda for getting hers off today :D and Susan tomorrow...I wanted so badly to get mine off before Susan but we decided that I got my bottom ones off half a year ago so we're even :)

Planned to meet Susan and go to the beach today but CONNEX SUCKS ASS

So I was in Box Hill (I've figured that I've been all over the fricken place today so...nobody can work out where I live and hunt me down :D) and Susan was in Glenny. It would take her longer to get to Richmond, so I thought I'd grab sushi and get on the train

Her train was cancelled, the next one was in 20 minutes

I was already at Flinders by the time she got ON the train =__=

So for 40 minutes I shopped around, checked out Lt Collins St which has this great jewellery place :) Liz got me a bracelet there for xmas and I'm in love with the dang store

Susans train was arriving at 1:42, so I decided to get the 1:20 to meet her

MY train was cancelled this time =__= (or maybe I missed it...I dunno, SHH)

both ended up at Richmond and missed the Sandringham by 2 MINUTES!! Eventually got to Brighton Beach station at 2:19 (I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I REMEMBER ALL THESE RIDICULOUS TRAIN TIMES) and hung out til about 4:30, talked about life and such :) EPIC SMILING FOR NO BRACES!!

^ I also managed to break my dress strap on the train =__= I've broken 3 items of clothing within the space of a week - straps are DANGEROUS

On the way home, Susan wanted to take me to Igloo Zoo for frozen yoghurt, so we had to train from Brighton to South Yarra and change trains to some other line that gets to Malvern. The next 3 trains from South Yarra were ALL express and skipped Malvern :( but eventually we got a train that wasn't express SO I WAS DESTINED TO EAT FROZEN YOGHURT (I ate it all before I remembered to take a photo - it was a damn sexy bucket of yoghurt with strawberries, chocolate and cookie)

So after that I had to get home on time for my cousin's birthday...we figured the tram would come at 6, we'd get to Glenferrie in 10 minutes and the train was at 6:22

SOMEHOW THE TRAM WAS CANCELLED AND WE HAD TO TAKE THE 6:12 ONE, WHICH GOT TO THE STATION A MINUTE TOO LATE, WHICH MEANT WE HAD TO WAIT 20 MINUTES FOR THE NEXT TRAIN WHICH MEANT I GOT HOME AN HOUR LATE

I WAS DESTINED FOR YOGHURT BUT NOT DESTINED TO COME HOME

...if I had been at Flinders, I woulda gotten a free water and icypole :(
