friday, geography excursion to cape schank, balnarring beach and somer's yacht club. wayyy better than toolangi, had a fun bus trip up with kiki and juls doing them classic min questions :] cape schank was pretty cool, fair bit of exercise going up and down the stairs to the seaside...bit of field sketching and stuff :] balnarring beach was sooo relaxing, we sat down for lunch and annoyed the seagulls...the weather was soo good HURRY THE HELL UP SUMMER TIME O__O!! somers yacht club was meh, i can't remember much. by now i was pretty damn tired :P had a sleepy bus trip back and that's pretty much it :]

yesterday i FINALLY got to watch the simpsons movie O__o after chinese school, viv and i went to grab sushi, get kiki from the train station and then we checked out the photoplus in glenny :] its heaps big, probably 4 or 5 times the size of the one in the city but the same number of booths. tonnes of costumes too :D we got amanda to come along, met up with juls and watched the movie. SPIDER PIG...SPIDER PIG :D :D la la la ahhahahah

bummed around in the glen afterwards, then went home :] might go for a bike ride soon, im pretty bored. really should do some notes for the english CAT tomorrow GAHHH ><

so we're bored. min and i :] thought we'd do a few pranks on her shithead boyfriend. it all started when he asked min why she had SOPH'S GHEYYYYYYYYYYYY*y key breaks* in her msn name. then he dared her to ask me if i was pmsing. which she did. then i went into a lot of detail to freak him out :]

SO FRICKEN PISSED

OKAY so i've been at the 40hr famine for almost 30 hours and NOT A SINGLE WORD (minus the accidental sound that came out as NOOO)...BUT NO PROPER WORDS!!!

AND THE CHINESE SCHOOL TEACHER THOUGHT I WAS STUPID!! THOSE ARE THE EXACT WORDS "sophie you're a smart person, why are you doing such a stupid thing?" THE HARD PART WAS RESISTING THE URGE TO GIVE HER THE "^%$#!" SIGN!!!

i was trying to explain that the point was to go for 40 hours without something you love/need. so obviously i picked talking :] and i was trying to explain, my point of doing it is to

1) understand how it feels to be disabled in one way or another and not have enough money for support

2) raise money for laos!!?!!!

3) CHALLENGE MYSELF
4) test my patience. and boy has my patience been tested ><

i feel like i'm 3/4 into a marathon and i've been told to go back because i'm an idiot. i don't get how some people can be so selfish like that, i was actually having a lot of fun (despite having my talkingbook stolen for a bit) until she ruined it for me. SERIOUSLY. HOW CAN SOME PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTAND, OR EVEN TRY TO UNDERSTAND.

40hr famine

so this year i finally get to do the 40hr famine. amanda and i are doing 40 hours without TALKING. yeah its harder than it looks

so far 8 hours down and i havent said a word. i think i accidentally went noooo to min but i meant it to just be a sound =/ it was hilarious, we were late to maths so the maths teacher locked us out. he was like WHY ARE YOU LATE and i held up my "i am doing the 40 hr famine...40hrs no talking" sign and hes just like >= get in and copy whats on the board

ahahhahah. min lasted 3 hours and gave up cause she accidentally said "it's a rock" to erika. amanda accidentally said something to hannah cause she was concentrating on felting and forgot :]

i've raised $113.70 so far, but for some reason i have $123.20 O__o i either stuffed it up, or havent given amanda change...hmm

so yeah, this is pretty fun actually. apart from the fact that i REALLY REALLY wanna talk.

house arts 01

first rehearsal for choir in house arts was pretty fantastic :D i remember last year, we got through about 1-2 lines in an entire lunchtime...this time, we got down pretty much half the song!! without the piano too :] except....whenever we next have a piano, everybody'll have to sing everything 4 notes higher =/ yeahyeah, perfectpitchgirl, shut up.

currently writing parts for the instrumental, so far we have 1 cello, 1 flute, 1 piano and 1 percussion. not a great turnout. i need a violin and more percussionists, but that shouldn't be too hard to find. I ALSO REALLY REALLY NEED A TRUMPET, SAX OR CLARINET!!! if that fails, i'll have to play flute and get someone else to conduct.

dammit, i should really learn to write music in pencil and not fineliner =/

IT'S ALL OVERR

...and somewhat even worth cramming most of it into the last few hours. literally.

the test paper was the usual 4 part harmony, 2 part harmony and melody. set work (unfinished symphony by schubert) had questions on the form of the 1st movement, writing out the first 6 bars of the 1st subject, instrumentation of the 2nd movement and some stupid shit "describe the texture of the first 6 bars of the 2nd movement". the rest of the general knowledge was on the sonata, concert overture (which i had no examples for =/), the cadenza, trombone and writing out the written range of the trumpet in B flat and horn in F. i reckon i'll pass.

yeah so that was just music mumbojumbo for me to laugh at when im 20, if i'll be around til then :P took me about 2 hours and a lot of stuffing up. they didnt gimme enough room for one of them and i had to rub it all out and start again with crammed big writing hahaha. i was in a massive hall with the 2nd and 5th grade theory and musicianship people, it was crazy. there was never a second of silence, it was this constant noise combination of pencils, rubbers, crap tables and chairs. not that i was complaining really :] i like noise.

sigh. well im fifteen and a weekish old :] like viv says IM OLD. oh and speaking of old, happy bday aiden, hao, lisa, randomchickatlaserwars, yao, johnson, mum and whoever else had a birthday this month :] i hope i got all that right O__o ITS IN ORDER TOO. none of you guys would ever read this BUT HEY :D like i said, feeling sentimental :P its a long word aye. i don't even know what it means?

just went for a run, even the 5 o'clock sun in the middle of winter for 15 minutes made me really brown O__o it'll fade in an hour though. hahaha. also bought witch hazel, i hope it works? it smells like SHIT but oh well :P

chinese school was pretty normal today. normal is pretty crazy really, debated (politely yelled) about buying cars and stuff, we wouldve won if castrato didnt yell whatever he yelled at the end :] i felt like a man the rest of the girls came in 15 minutes later :P

theory exam on wednesday, im freaking out but so calm at the same time. i hardly know anything but it'll sink in eventually :] it seems the same every year, but i somehow get by with a high distinction anyway. plus, i borrowed the answer book from my theory teacher so i'll just memorise everything word for word. that's the way i roll :]

house arts is pretty much starting to kick in, its so goddamn hard writing out the music parts to walk on by by ear :/ but once i got started, it was pretty fun. can't wait til the cast list goes up, and i really wanna see the dance :P and its not even all choreographed yet, haha.

i just wanna let this out, but i think most people have heard about the girl (claire oliver i think) who is dying of skin cancer. it's so brave of her to tell her story to everybody in the condition she's in, and i'm so glad that what she's done has changed at least some people's opinions on solariums. i think they're passing a law for it to be illegal if you're under 16, and even if you're 16&17, you need parental consent :] its really nice to know that even if you're about to leave the world, you've changed it in some way ^^ happy birthday claire, god bless you xx

also, i felt like reflecting on the year so far. maybe being fifteen does mean i've grown up O__o last year on my birthday i was busy losing my voice, pulling muscles and catching hats at the divas with viv, vic, sam and carly. well, i only caught one hat :] but anyway, that was back then, in our little group. then shit happens, as it does when you're a teen but no matter how crap i felt back then, 2007 eventually came around and new friendships were made, old friendships were patched up and life looked pretty fantastic :D went to the maybelline masterclass with lisa and brought back a truckload of freebies *LOVES*.

first big thing that happened at school was probably THE PAJAMA GAME :D :D :D yeah, even bandgeeks are allowed to have fun :P more new friends were made (whom i should have called last holidays but err, woops :\ sorry guys :P) and it was just a whole roll of fun in general :D

photography and enterprising multimedia were the best subjects ever back then, now i get stuck with media studies and and....net nature =__= the latter is just pointless. but oh well.

the lauriston fair/ashburton fair was also heaps fun and it was awesome to see katharine and susan again. snow cones being thrown to the ground, spotting hamish and andy (...they happened at the same time :P), going on rides, icecream, beaniekids for $1, horrible tanlines, sunburns and tattoos...ah the list shall go on forever :]

this blog is getting long. i think i shall continue it on later when i next eat a block of chocolate :] but there's tonnes to look forward to, ESPECIALLY HOUSE ARTS AND URBAN!!!!!! UNO IN THE HOTEL AT 3AM, SHITYEAHH!! 4 weeks of school to go, another 2 and all the fun stuff shall begin......................................
